Most organists are trained to perform for adults. With the right planning, a performance on the organ can capture and hold the attention of children ages 4-5, making a lasting and favorable impression, and at the same time, being a lot of fun for the organist!

Cathryn Wilkinson is Associate Professor and Department Chair at Aurora University, Aurora IL, where she teaches music history, music theory, music appreciation, and wellness and social responsibility. She has taught previously at Concordia University, River Forest, IL, the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. Her degrees include a BA in music and economics from William and Mary College, the MFA in organ performance and theory pedagogy, and a PhD in music theory, both from the University of Iowa.
